Introduction

Climate change impacts around 330 million children and a significant segment of the youth population. These young individuals serve as vital stakeholders and active contributors in addressing these challenges. The UNFCCC and Paris Agreement recognises their role in climate action via Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE), underscoring the importance of empowering youth and their organisations to drive climate solutions. It's imperative to connect youth to actively engage, enhance their skills, and foster an environment conducive to innovative solutions for a more sustainable and resilient planet. As a part of the Global Youth Forum, SLYCAN Trust Youth, in collaboration with SLYCAN Trust, UNICEF, EthicalX, and ClimaComms, is organising a Pre-COP Youth Dialogue focused on youth involvement in climate policy and action in the lead-up to the 28th Conference Of Parties (COP28), which is scheduled to take place from November 30th to December 12th 2023. The Pre- COP28 Youth dialogue will facilitate and provide opportunities for youth to partake in key initiatives aimed at expanding their involvement and contributions to climate policy and action while amplifying youth engagement at local and global levels.
