The 28th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC, which was held in Dubai, UAE, from 30th November to 13th December 2023, brought together global leaders to enhance ambition for climate action.
Following the Pre-COP youth forum held on November 21st, as part of the Global Youth Forum on Climate Change's efforts to strengthen youth engagement in the UNFCCC process and build their capacities, SLYCAN Trust Youth, collaborating with SLYCAN Trust and ClimaComms, will be hosting the Post-COP28 Youth debrief.
This hybrid event, scheduled for January 18th, 2024, from 2.00 pm to 4.45 pm, serves as a session platform for knowledge exchange and updates from COP28, with a special focus on youth engagement in climate action and policy for 2024. It will also provide an opportunity to introduce SLYCAN Trust Youth’s upcoming programs for the year and discuss various ways in which youth can actively participate and contribute to these initiatives.
The International dialogue will be conducted on January 18th, 2023, from 9.30 am to 12.15 pm. The key areas of focus for the event will be:
Kindly note that the participation at this event will be based on an application process, and nominations received through universities and been through the nominations received from country groups representing their negotiators for the GGA, and member countries of the Global Fellowship Programme.
Participation for the event will be limited to 50 youth selected through an application process. They will be required to submit a narrative based on their activities on climate change in Sri Lanka.
